Primarc microwave-powered lamps are manufactured from the highest quality materials and to the most exacting manufacturing specifications. Their uses are varied, but are most common in the following industries:
Operation The microwave-powered lamp is excited by high frequency microwave energy emitted from a device called a magnetron. A small, low-pressure mercury vapor lamp located behind the reflector radiates short-wave UV, which ionizes the gas inside the microwave bulb. The lamp then reaches full power within a few seconds, producing the spectral output required for curing. Primarc microwave-powered lamps are available in 6 and 10-inch sizes and vary in power from 300 watts per inch to 600 watts per inch. The standard microwave-powered lamp has a mercury/gas fill. However, as with Primarc electrode lamps, we can modify the spectral distribution by the addition of special metal halides as shown below.
